He's a Spartan now

Our move to Victoria meant Bryson had to prove himself as the new kid. Part of the reason we chose the area our house is in was so Bryson would attend Claremont High school - one of the more competitive basketball programs on the island. Try outs involved competing against 60-70 kids for the ten spots on the roster. Bryson is a Spartan now.

So far their team is 5 and 1 in league play

Their one loss was to the S.M.U.S (St. Michael's University School), a private school here in Victoria. If that sounds familiar, it is where Steve Nash played his High School career.
The Spartans got even this last weekend though, beating SMUS by 5 points in the final to win the Claremont Invitational tournament.

The previous weekend they played in the North Shore invitational tournament in Vancouver.

They lost their second game in overtime and won all the rest for a third place finish.

This was the first of two three's that got his team back in the game that they eventually won.

During the tournament they beat two teams that were in the preseason top 10 rankings for BC.
Bryson is having fun, making some new friends and enjoying the game. The only confusing part, being new here, we don't know what teams we're supposed to hate yet.
