We had a crazy weekend that started out with a great basketball game. Bryson's community league team was playing for the gold medal. Their team plays really well together and were hoping to win the tournament. Bryson got 12 points, a bunch of rebounds and completely shut down the guy he was guarding.
So the game was tied with 3 minutes to go...........Bryson stole the ball and had a breakaway to score with a picture perfect lay-up. The other team responded with a basket so it was all tied up again. Bryson took the ball down the court and was about to shoot when he was fouled. There were 10 seconds left.
He missed his first freethrow, but swished the second. Unfortunately, a player from both teams jumped in too quickly and the ref called a line violation. So Bryson had to shoot the free throw again. He missed it but the rebound came close enough to him that he could grab it and with 3 seconds left made a buzzer beating shot to win the game!
Bryson was pretty proud of his effort in helping his team win the gold medal. He played hard.
